Our Assistant Principal

I would like to begin by thanking the students, parents, and community members for their warm welcome to Gridley. The support this community bestows upon Gridley High School is second to none, and I feel honored to be a part of it.  Gridley High School’s amazing test scores, great CTE pathways, and Gold Ribbon status were part of the reason I sought to become a part of this incredible organization.  I believe in creating as many opportunities as possible for students to learn they can have a positive effect on themselves and their communities, and I’m excited to build on what Gridley HS has already done so well.

I began my educational career almost 16 years ago as a middle school teacher, in the small, northern California town of Cedarville. After a few years, I transitioned to a position as a high school math teacher. As many do in a small school, I took on many different positions in addition to being a math teacher, such as lead teacher and curriculum chair. A few years ago, I took a position as a High School Principal, and even Elementary School Principal in my last year of tenure in Surprise Valley. Things took a change for us when my husband decided to pursue a law degree, and away we went!

My husband and I have three daughters, and two dogs. They all keep us busy. My family loves camping, swimming, hiking, and bike riding. We are loving this area of California with its warmer weather and we are not missing the snow!

Thank you again for giving me an opportunity to work with your children. I am always available to you, and look forward to our future relationship. You may reach me at (530)846-4791 x233 or by email at rburresch@gusd.org.
